The story of In Plain Sleight.
IN PLAIN SLEIGHT · STARRING LEE TERBOSIC
For Lee Terbosic, the impossible started with a childhood fascination with magic in Pittsburgh. That curiosity became a life onstage—and eventually a show built around a simple question: how much of what we believe depends on what we think we saw?
In Plain Sleight invites you into that question. Over 70 minutes, Lee weaves sleight of hand, mind reading, quick-witted comedy, and personal stories into an evening that brings you closer to the mystery. The audience becomes part of the show, and a shared moment can turn from laughter to astonishment in an instant.
The title holds the idea at the heart of it all: the magic happens right in front of you. Lee plays with attention, expectation, and perception, giving familiar things unexpected possibilities. What the eyes see and the ears hear, the mind believes—and that’s where deception lives.
The show found its home at Liberty Magic, the Pittsburgh theater Lee helped create with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Since its opening-year run in 2019, In Plain Sleight has grown through more than 200 performances into the venue’s longest-running show. Its latest Pittsburgh engagement ran July 10–August 1, 2026. Today, that Pittsburgh-born experience is available to audiences worldwide, in theaters big or small.
RUN TIME: 70 MINUTES

Born at Liberty Magic.
Before In Plain Sleight had a home at 811 Liberty Avenue, Lee had a vision: create a permanent place for magic in Pittsburgh. He called it Project 811. Working with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Lee helped create Liberty Magic in 2018, shaping an intimate theater built around the connection between performer and audience.
That room became the birthplace of two of his signature productions: In Plain Sleight and The Life & Death of Harry Houdini. In the theater’s opening year in 2019, Lee gave 100 performances of In Plain Sleight and 36 of his Houdini one-man show—bringing both his own magic and Houdini’s story to life in the venue he helped build. Born in Pittsburgh, In Plain Sleight is available to play theaters of any size, anywhere in the world.
